Micron Technology introduced the “world’s fastest SSD“, called RealSSD C300, designed for installation in desktop and laptop computers.

The Micron RealSSD C300 has support for next-generation SATA interface with throughput up to 6GB/s, which is twice higher than the previous version of SATA interface. This Micron RealSSD C300 is allows reading speed up to 355 MB/s, writing speed up to 215 MB/s.

Micron RealSSD C300 SSD is used MLC NAND flash memory that is 34nm process technology, with high-speed synchronous interface, ONFI 2.1 (Open NAND Flash Interface).

The Micron RealSSD C300 drive is already available in 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch versions with capacity of 128GB and 256GB. The mass production of new Micron RealSSD C300 SSD is scheduled for the Q1 2010.
